Three areas of unmet medical need

Each demands the same standard: a finding that is nearly right has no clinical value.

01

Diagnostics

Highly specific. A diagnostic must identify exactly what is present — which pathogen, which variant, which disease state — because every development and clinical decision downstream inherits that call. Specificity is not a performance metric here; it is the deliverable.

02

Drug resistance

Mechanisms of action. Resistance arises at the molecular interface between a compound and its target, and it is determined at specific residues and mutations. Annotating those sites — and the compensatory pathways that bypass them — is what makes a resistance profile actionable: for new drug development and lead optimisation first, for the design of combination therapies, and ultimately for clinical decisions.

03

Immune evasion

The immune system is the most powerful weapon against disease. When pathogenic cells and tissues evade it — foreign pathogens as much as the body’s own tumour cells — the therapeutic task is to redirect it. That first requires understanding the evasion strategy: the interaction between pathogenic cell and host at the molecular level.
